Mission Statement

The Mount Vernon Public Schools Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of education in the school district by raising funds for projects that encourage and enhance academics, athletics, the arts, technology and all other programs that will enrich the learning experience offered in the Mount Vernon School District.

The Mount Vernon Public Schools logo of the tree is symbolic of the “tree of wisdom,” which denotes continual academic study, progression and development. The tree is also symbolic of our beautiful Skagit Valley.

Mount Vernon Public Schools Foundation History

The Mount Vernon Public Schools Foundation was established in May of 2006 as a non-profit charity. MVPSF solicits grant proposals to encourage continuous improvements in education.

We have 15 people on our Board of Directors, as well as the Superintendent of Mount Vernon Schools as an ex-officio member. The Foundation does not have a staff and is solely dependent on tax-deductible donations from the community and alumni.
